If they've got a good sense of humour you could get them the book '1000 places to see before you die' :o)
When I retire I'd like something that didn't make me feel ancient, like a hot air balloon flight ticket or a theme park season pass. Something fun.

A joy ride on a Harley Davison……with a framed photograph of the event. Plus maybe a book voucher, or restaurant voucher, or some small thing that could be inscribed.
